    Hi,

I am so sorry I ask 2,000 questions a day but I have another one. I wanted to purchase liquid silk from the MMS website but I was wondering how to use it in soaps? Do I add it at trace? And what will it do for my soaps?

Lastly, how would it benefit my lotions? And how do I add it?

Thank you again for all of your wonderful support,
    Catherine

    Hi Catherine,

Never apologize for asking questions. For every question you ask, there are probably at least 10 people who would like to know the answer, but who never got around to asking.

When I was in college chemistry, my lab partner always asked a ton of questions. Often I'd think, "oh John, everyone knows the answer to that." But often the answer was different than I thought it was!

So never be afraid to ask.

Sorry I can't answer your question.

    Catherine,
I don't like using silk in a use and wash off quickly product like soap. Silk is a protein that helps our skin and hair build strength. It is best used in a lotion, leave in hair conditioner, or other similar products. Personally, I think that the silk adds a consumer appeal to the finished cold process soap. If you do want to add the silk, add it during the trace stage just like other additives.

It would benefit by helping strengthen hair and skin. Add the liquid silk when you add the water, or if the recipe you use adds ingredients after allowing the main mixture to cool after mixing, then add it with those ingredients.

    I hope this helps!

Don't worry about asking questions! My philosophy is the day I stop asking questions, is the day I stop learning! :-)

I think silk in soap is a waste, however I do get the liquid silk from MMS and use it in my lotions. Linda
